Cigar Review: Corojo Oscuro by J Fuego

J Fuego is a brand that was created in 2006 and has roots dating back to 1876 with the family's leaf growing company in Cuba. The family moved to Central America in 1995 where they rolled many cigars for an array of different companies. For the past ten years, Jesus Fuego has rolled and sold their own brand with many lines and blends.

The Anatomy of the cigar consists of
Filler: Nicaraguan
Binder: Nicaraguan
Wrapper: Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro

Vitola: This basic shape Robusto come in at 5 inches in length and a 50 ring gauge.

Appearance: A dark brown color covers the wrapper with visible veins and a slight tooth

Construction: There is a slight sponginess in the pack with a smooth but toothy feel

Prelight: A great rustic tobacco and earth aroma comes from the wrapper

First Third: With an initial interesting mandarin orange start, this cigar is medium to full in body and has a slight sweetness with a hint of spice.

Second Third: Multiple unique tastes take over the cigar with cinnamon, nutmeg, and slight sweetness. The aroma is sweet yet spicy and is creamy in draw and upgrading to fuller in body.

Final Third: This cigar ends with a harsher draw but is still loose. The aroma is now more of a spice and the tastes have transitioned to a full bodied spicy and earth.

Overall: This cigar has an even and near perfect draw through out but the burn line does waiver during the Second Third. Unfortunately the ash does not hold well so do not expect to impress any one with a long strong ash from this stick. However, this cigar has very unique tastes and could be compared to freshly baked holiday cookies and was quite impressive as well as being a bargain cigar.

Score: 7/10
