Powstanie, meaning Uprising, is a two blend line from the brothers of Cigar Hustler located in Deltona, Florida. Mike and Gregg Szczepankiewicz decided to create there own cigars a few years ago and boy was that a fantastic idea. There was a bit of sibling rivalry as both came up with a blend: Gregg created the Broadleaf and Mike the Habano. They were smoked and voted on and the Habano came up ahead, but at very close margin. Thus two new cigar blends were born and the decision to release both was finalized.

Appearance: With a dark chocolate brown presentation there are a few visible veins and seams.
Construction: Good, firm and even pack and slight tooth.
Prelight: The cold draw gives me a sweet tobacco and grassy taste and the wrapper smells of a pleasant farm.
First Third: The first section of the Broadleaf is full in taste with sweet smooth smoke and hints of sour and sweet flavor. With a short dark fruit finish, this stick is off to a great start.
Second Third: In the halfway point of the cigar I noticed some enhanced flavors coming out. A very unique candy-like sweetness is quite noticeable as well as a minty background taste. The flavor is full but the body does not follow suit.
Overall: The Powstanie Broadleaf is a fantastic example of a full flavor, medium bodied smoke. The preferred smoke for anytime of day, this cigar is inconsistent in the best way. It is greatly exceedingly refreshing to smoke such a changing and evolving cigar. If you are lucky enough to find this or are in the Deltona area, I implore you to grab the Powstanie Broadleaf and experience what fantastic cigars are like.
