Interview with Patty Medina

-Cigar Life was opened by Mario and Patty Medina in January of 2017


What is the origin of your shop?

 "The idea for our shop was born from us looking for comfortable places to smoke. There was nothing in our area so we would have drive to Tampa or Orlando to sit and smoke. One thing led to another and we started working on our concept."

What is the best part of owning the shop? 

"Meeting interesting people and getting to know our regulars. They are becoming like family." 

-Florida Cigar Club Day during the opening weekend of Cigar Life.

Why did you want to get into the cigar market?

"We love cigars! But seriously, we thought we could fill a niche in this area."

-The Medinas offer lockers for customers that may be rented for a yearly fee. Make sure to ask Mario about the unique humidification for them, I found it very interesting.
-The Cordoba & Morales/Cigar Life rolling table for special events.

Do you organize your humidor is a specific way? 

"Cigars in our humidor are grouped by manufacturer or distributor. They are not in any particular order. A lot of it depends on the number of facings we have. Someone told us that setting the humidor would be like playing Tetris!" 

-Customers exploring the fine selection available.

-You cannot go wrong with a diverse and abundant humidor selection.

What do you want your customers to get out of the shop? 

"We want our customers to feel like it’s a home away from home where they can sit back, relax, enjoy a cigar and good conversation. And hopefully they will feel at home and will keep coming back." 


-With multiple seating arrangements, one gets quite comfortable.

What are your best selling cigars? 

"Right now the Leaf by Oscar is selling extremely well as are several of the Olivas and Cordoba & Morales."
All three of which are in the Florida Cigar Club's Top Ten Cigars of 2016!!!

-What could be behind these beautiful doors?

-Cigar Life is very unique with their own Cordoba & Morales Board Room that may suit multiple needs



Besides cigars, what else do you offer your customers? 

"We have a selection of humidors, ashtrays, lighters, cutters and we also sell Lampe Berger. We are working on getting our beer & wine license, so for now we offer soft drinks, water and coffee." 



Why should cigar smokers come to your shop and what should they expect when entering? 

"We believe we have a very good selection of cigars so smokers should be able to find something they like or hopefully discover something new! We greet everyone when they come, introduce ourselves, and offer assistance. Our goal is to make everyone feel like part of the Cigar Life family!"
-The Medinas are an extremely friendly couple that wants to open their home to you.
