Cigar Reviews: King of Kings Broadleaf by Kings Cigars

Based in Pompano Beach, Florida, Kings Cigars is a Boutique Brand with a fantastic selection to choose from. They can be found across the United States and I picked up mine from Sticks Cigars Co. in Fort Myers with the help of Owner Thomas Green.
This is one of those brands that if you see them, grab them.

The Anatomy of this cigar consists of
Filler: Proprietary Blend with Nicaraguan Tobacco
Binder: Nicaraguan
Wrapper: Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro

Vitola: This King of Kings Broadleaf is a Toro, at 6 inches with a 50 ring gauge.

Appearance: Incredibly dark and oily brown of aged leather.

Construction: Oily wrapper with visible veins and a firm pack with a slight give.

Prelight: Accompanying the barnyard aroma there is a unique raisin note from the cold draw prelighting.

First Third: The initial puffs presented a very oily and buttery smoke and full mouth feel with strength that comes in at the end.

Second Third: At about the halfway point in this smoke, I found it had gone out a few times. The tastes did not waver from the beginning but rather heightened with more noticeable soil earth but consistent oily smoke. In fact the whole smoke time gave very chewy smoke with each draw.

Final Third: The cigar finalized itself with very oily and earthy flavors it started with. The same chewy smoke was enjoyed with every puff as it was in the start. The flavors do however mix together more and mellow down.

Overall: The last leg of the cigar showed this is not so much a flavor changing cigar that, it seems, everyone strives to experience. Alternatively, I appreciate the cigar which stays constant and lets you appreciate the tastes it has given you during your entire smoke time. The Kings of Kings Broadleaf gives you a quite enjoyable hour and a half of oily, earthy, and chewy smoke with a medium to full strength that may be enjoyed at any point in the day.

Rating: 8/10
